Where Was I
I have been uber busy for the past few weeks. I was not only playing games (:P) but we were scouting for exclusive private schools around the metro so we could transfer our daughter to a big school next year. Of course the “we” part would count for me and my daughter. My husband would be there if his presence was needed. Like on Monday, after my daughter’s entrance exams, we were called in for a short interview so my husband left his work to be with us. The guidance counselor already told us that our daughter passed. In fact, she passed with flying colors! She showed us a bit of what had transpired by showing us the exams.
I am actually aiming for two more schools. Once I get the results of all her exams that’s the time when we will choose what school she is going to enroll in for the next school year and the years after that. One down, two to go! To tell you honestly, we have already given the reservation fee last Monday when we learned that she passed. I think my husband is more excited than me. Hahaha! Naku, you should see my daughter raving about this school!
Although, even if we are partial to it, we haven’t decided yet. The truth is the tuition fee is no joke when it comes to these three schools. Hay! Why do they all have to be expensive? Hehehe. The price one has to pay for a good education eh? The price range of these three schools are the same. So we are also considering other stuff such as the traffic, the duration of travel, the security (although the three schools I have chosen are secured enough – the kids will not be able to get out of the school premises without a pass and anybody who is not authorized will not be able to get in either or they could but they would have to surrender an ID). I just do not like schools that let their students out just like that. The nearest exclusive school for girls near our place does that. That is the reason why I am not considering that school. It would have been the most convenient and the least expensive but …. Plus, I do not want a school that is too near because when she grows older there is a tendency for all these girls to visit each other and go out and stuff like that. SO I want a school that is not too near and not too far. Of course, we all have our preferences and these are just mine.
Anyways, the first school where we gave our reservation fee is the school where I grew up in. That is our first choice and I firmly believe that the school will be able to teach my daughter the right values that she needs to have later in life. Even if we already paid the reservation fee, may I repeat that we haven’t decided yet. So let us just see shall we.
I just remembered the pedia doctor of my daughter telling me yesterday that I should not consider any other school because that is where her daughter studies (preschool) and she said that every penny spent is worth it. She said that her daughter continuously amaze her with the things that she learns from that school.
I am hoping that all the effort that I put in going around and around these schools, inquiring, submitting application forms and others will at least make me shed off a couple of pounds. But the truth is the more I get tired, the more I eat so I am really considering to take weight loss pills. Nothing else works anyways.
